Program: "How to Reduce Stress and Improve Mental and Emotional Health"

I have developed the "How to Reduce Stress and Improve Mental and Emotional Health" program specifically for businesses and non-profit organizations. The purpose of this program is to help their staff who are dealing with stress, burnout, and anxiety to improve their emotional well-being and feel empowered.

Mental health in Canada is declining, with one in five Canadians experiencing a psychological health problem or illness each year. In April 2023, research showed that over 4.1 million people experienced high levels of work-related stress, representing 21.2% of all employed people. The healthcare and social assistance industry had the highest prevalence of work-related stress, with 27.3% of employees experiencing high levels. For your organization, this means that performance is affected at both the individual and organizational level, leading to decreased productivity, increased health costs and higher employee turnover.

I am an expert in developing and delivering training programs, having taught more than 1,000 individuals on various topics over the past 20 years. I believe in continuous education and professional development, and I'm passionate about mental health. I am certified in Emotional Intelligence, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and Emotional Freedom Technique, and have recently obtained the Mental Health First Certificate. I create customized workplace mental health training to ensure high-quality, relevant, and client-focused content.

My training focuses on teaching individuals how to acknowledge and manage their emotions. My mission is: Empowering Individuals for Stronger Communities. The program "How to Reduce Stress and Improve Mental and Emotional Health" is highly interactive, and I teach a variety of tools and techniques to help manage anxiety and stress as soon as they arise. This is a group training consisting of three 2-hour sessions, with one week in between each session to allow time for processing emotions and practicing techniques.

  • On the first session, I provide an overview of mental health statistics, discuss the differences between mental health and mental illness, and explain what emotions are. I then teach how to use Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping) to stop the flight or fight response that arises in the body when we encounter something mentally or physically terrifying.
  • On the second session, we review what we learned on the first day and do another round of tapping to work on common anxiety triggers suggested by the participants, such as current events or common triggers. We also do a self-awareness exercise to uncover our identities and define our core values as individuals. We end the day with a brief hypnosis exercise to relax at a deeper level.
  • On the third session, we review what we learned on the second day, and I guide the group through a Tapping session, called “Find peace in turbulent times.” This session helps reduce stress and anxiety regardless of the cause, and is effective in a group setting. We then do a brief hypnosis exercise to relax at a deeper level, and end the day with a group discussion and time for questions and feedback.
